The John Olson Endowment of the New York City Classical Guitar Society

The John Olson Endowment was established on September 19, 2025, to commemorate and advance John’s contributions and vision as President of the Society from 2007 through 2024. During those 17 years, he guided the Society through its critical early phase as a fledgling organization and built it into a distinct presence in New York City’s cultural landscape, offering concerts and programs that celebrate the classical guitar’s rich heritage and influence across musical genres. The goal of the Endowment is to support the participation of artists in Society activities, with an investment strategy designed to preserve principal while generating income to fund those activities in a way that balances return with stability, helping to ensure the Society’s long-term sustainability.
